Basic offroad Requirements

 

The vehicle must have recovery points front and rear.
For going alone a winch and the knowledge to use it is a must.

1)Appropriate clothing for the weather outside your vehicle.
2)A change of clothing incase they get wet
3)Food for at least 24 hours for a short trip(in case you need to walk out)
a) Make the amount appropriate to the distance you are traveling

4)Water(minimum of 2 qts per day per person for drinking)
5)High Lift Jack
a)Tree strap
b)Choke chain
c)Snatch block
d)Length of wire rope complete with loops
e)a way to attach the choke chain and cable to the jack
f)two shackles
g)work gloves
h)Wheel chocks

6)kenetic rope or recovery strap with loops-- not hooks(hooks can be dangerous)
7)tools to fix your vehicle
8)Hose repair kit
9)Gas tank fix epoxy
10) high pressure hoseand clamps--- that will fit over your brake line and tranny lines
(allows you to repair broken lines by cutting the tubing and sliding the hose over the tubing and clamping both sides)

11)small tube cutter
12)Vehicle fluids---(enough to fill up the largest capacity of type on rig)
a)Tranny fluid
b)Brake/clutch fluid
c)Gear oil
d)engine oil

13)full size spare tire.
14)tire repair equipment
a)inflate a flat---(truck size)
b)tire repair kit---quality one including sidewall repairs
c)tire spoons

15)spare fan belt/belts
16)spare windshield wiper blades(in case they get ripped off on the trail)
17)spare fuses
18)spare bulbs
19)tire pressure guage---good accurate one for airing down
20)Air Compressor--- for airing up(even a cheap one to get you back to 20 psi for on road travel till you can reach an air pump, also for flats)

22)a personal first aid kit--- Get a decent one. You need more than band aids

***I actually recommend you keep the above in your vehicle at all times. I used to carry most of the above in all my cars on the road.
